Unit 67 and The Cape Coral Rose Garden Area
You may recall how I previously mentioned most, but not all of the locations behind bridges are longer boating runs out to open water. The portion of Unit 67 behind the bridge including the portion that we refer to as ‘The Rose Garden’ is one of these very noteworthy exceptions. It gets its name from an attraction that used to be in this location when the city was in it’s infancy in the 1960’s. At that time, to encourage visitors, it had porpoise shows, a replica of a Spanish Galleon, a waltzing water fountain, animal exhibits and yes, a popular rose garden. Nowadays it is a premium neighborhood, with very quick boating access on an especially deep basin. The only drawback here is the bridge. At 8’9” it certainly limits the size vessel you can have here. But if your focus is more on a very nice neighborhood, quick access and big water views as long as your vessel will fit under the bridge, it’s a great consideration. It’s also just down the street from Tarpon Point Marina, which is a great waterfront complex with restaurants, shops, a marina and a Westin Resort.

This area is recommended for:
Buyers after pool homes priced over $500k, built since the late 1980s or newer, who place an emphasis on neighborhood quality and location. Those seeking below Cape Coral Pkwy for the very short boating runs, but only looking to accommodate a vessel under approximately 28 feet in length. It’s also a very good target for those who wish to rent their property out part of the time as a vacation rental.
