Bonita Springs & Estero are well positioned, upscale towns located between Fort Myers and Naples, Florida. They includes many high end gated golf communities, with a notable number of them being used as winter vacation homes by Northern visitors. Walking down Bonita Beach you will see many extravagant multi-million dollar Gulf front homes, but Gulf access canal options do actually exist at reasonable prices. Nearly all properties in Bonita benefit from a very short drive time to the beach and there is plenty of public parking. The area also has numerous restaurant and shopping options, from the reasonably priced to the very fancy. Golf courses are abundant and the distance to the closest international airport (RSW) is only 20 minutes away. As an added plus nearly everything in Estero is very new. From a boating perspective: Estero has very few Gulf access options and Bonita waterways are rather shallow, so they are not advisable for very large vessels. However, for those who are looking to accommodate boats up to around 30 feet, it is an excellent combination of location, boating, and beautiful surroundings. This site also includes specific search pages for the following areas: 1) Bonita Beach, 2) Barefoot Beach, 3) Bonita Bay, 4) Spring Creek, 5) Bonita West of 41.
If you happen to be doing a customized search for properties in Bonita and or Estero, please note: it falls mostly into the Naples MLS system, not the Fort Myers MLS. You will have the option at the top of the screen on the customized search page to choose which one you want to search, so in most cases choose Naples. However, the Fort Myers system allows greater customization. So, if you have some very particular search criteria (ex: specific # of stories tall, specific years of construction, etc) you may wish to utilize the Fort Myers MLS system too. Of course instead of all that you can feel free to contact me with the details of what you are looking for, and I can advise you that way too.
Note: If you are unfamiliar with the intricacies of the areas waterways, it is recommended that you review the Southwest Florida area overview here. Also please note: in some of the communities, while listed as gulf access, they may require leasing/purchasing a slip at an additional fee or keeping the boat at the community marina. My name is Dan Starowicz and I am a Realtor with Sand Castle Realty. I have four area offices to better serve my clients, located in Bonita Springs, Naples, Cape Coral and Fort Myers. I specialize in waterfront property (including foreclosures and short sales). As a local resident for the past 25+ years, I can safely say that I know this area quite well and bring my expertise to every transaction. I also enjoy my share of boating in this region, so I can safely advise clients as to the pro’s and con’s of different area waterways, from a boaters perspective.
In addition to being a Realtor, I have a background with years of experience in the mortgage business and as a hands-on Real Estate Investor too. I’ve personally bought bank owned property, imminent foreclosures, short-sale property, auctioned properties and estate sale homes.
