Marco Island is an exceptional combination of great boating and pristine beaches in one desirable location. For those looking for waterfront properties with the boat right in the backyard, Marco Island certainly fits the bill. In fact, the majority of properties here are either direct beachfront, or on a gulf access canal. Also, the avid fisherman is certain to appreciate the numerous fishing opportunities in the neighboring 10,000 islands. This island location provides you with sparkling blue waters, a notable shade prettier than some of the cities a bit further North. This does however come at a higher pricing point than similar properties in Cape Coral.

Think of Marco Island as a relaxing place to get away from it all. This of course means that it is a rather seasonal place, with winter visitors flocking to the island, when the temperatures drop to the North. Marco is indeed a bit removed from ‘town’ but the drive to Naples shopping, dining, and golf courses is under a half hour. Properties on the island average around $800,000, but plenty of lower priced options exist as well.
Fort Myers’s airport (RSW) is your closest large airport, though Fort Lauderdale and Miami’s airports are valid options as well.
Note that a high speed water taxi service (Key West Express) provides trips back and forth to Key West from Marco Island. Given the fact that Marco is the last developed section on the West Coast of Florida, this puts it reasonably close to the keys. Great for popping in on Duval Street for a day, but then returning to the relaxed pace that Marco Island offers it’s residents thereafter.

My name is Dan Starowicz and I am a Realtor with Premiere Plus Realty, Co. I have a number of Real Estate offices throughout SW Florida, including one on Marco Island. I specialize in Gulf access, waterfront homes and coastal/island properties near the area’s beaches. As a local resident for the past 33+ years, I can safely say that I know this area quite well and bring my expertise to every transaction. I also enjoy my share of boating in this region, so I can safely advise clients as to the pro’s and con’s of different area waterways, from a boaters perspective.
In addition to being a Realtor, I have a background with years of experience in the mortgage business and as a hands-on Real Estate Investor too.
